Rachel Pfeiffer | Psychotherapist, North Sydney

Rachel Pfeiffer is a psychotherapist based at The Embodied Mind Collective in North Sydney. She specialises in individual therapy, working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, self-doubt, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. Her approach integrates somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Gestalt therapy, and is grounded in over two decades of her own personal healing journey.

Hi, I'm Rachel.

I'm a psychotherapist devoted to helping people come back home to themselves.

Most of the people who sit across from me are intelligent, capable and deeply self-aware. They've read the books. They listen to the podcasts. They understand their patterns. And yet, when it comes to their own lives, they still find themselves overthinking, doubting, bracing, or disconnecting from what they feel.

My work lives in that space.

I had my first experience of therapy at eleven, in the wake of my parents' divorce. I remember walking out of that room sensing that something had shifted. I didn't have language for it yet, but I felt seen in a way that reorganised me. That early encounter shaped the trajectory of my life.

Since then, I've spent over two decades on my own therapy journey. I know what it is to sit in the other chair. I know the courage it takes to speak the unspeakable. I know the relief of being met without judgement. That lived experience grounds my work. I don't approach you from a pedestal. I meet you from the inside of the human experience.

Alongside my clinical training, I've practiced yoga since I was fifteen and have taught for nearly a decade. Yoga taught me something psychology alone could not: that insight is powerful, but embodiment is transformative. You can understand your story and still feel trapped in your nervous system. When we include the body, when we slow down enough to notice sensation, breath, contraction, impulse, change becomes more than cognitive. It becomes lived.

My therapeutic approach integrates somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Gestalt therapy. In practice, that means we pay attention to your nervous system, we build a relationship with the different parts of you including the ones you'd rather exile, and we stay close to your present-moment experience. I'm interested in helping you develop a steadier relationship with your inner world so you can move through life with more self-trust and less internal warfare.

I'm not here to chase happiness with you. Happiness visits when it wants to. What we can cultivate is something far more enduring: self-awareness, emotional capacity, and the ability to act in alignment with your values even when things feel messy. I want you to leave therapy liking yourself more. Trusting yourself more. Feeling less at the mercy of your thoughts.

The relationship between us matters deeply. Therapy works because two people agree to build something honest together. You bring your experience, your history, your longing. I bring training, perspective, and a steady presence. You are always in the driver's seat. My role is to help you see the terrain more clearly, especially the parts that feel foggy or frightening.

If you're ready to move beyond analysing yourself and begin inhabiting yourself, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

Come back home to yourself.
